Politicians & Election 2010
Hi Everyone!
Further to my2010 Election Metal health Campaign letterto Key Political Party Members, I am so far particularly disappointed with the number and quality of the responses on the whole!
Apart from a very small number of the many politicians I wrote too, the majority have obviously not read or not fully understood my correspondence’s core purpose!
The core purpose I was trying to achieve was to highlight the broader issues faced by those experiencing mental health problems in our country!
The issues in particular being the lack of mental health care resources currently available… my aim to raise awareness and understanding that would hopefully lead to improved availability of the necessary help and support needed, for all those requiring mental health services including initial intervention and ongoing care… provided when and where it’s needed.
Most of those politicians I had contacted had unfortunately missed these points that I was making, and they also missed the fact that I was not asking for intervention in my specific case in particular. My concerns were for much broader in nature, and for the many, such as those unfortunate individuals I have met that are much worse off than myself, having witnessed first hand as a mental health service user myself since becoming ill.
I do warmly congratulate… (more…)
